Jupiter's tidal affect on Earth is Solar Rising.

Terminology:

• Waxing The celestial body is progressing towards full.
• Waning The celestial body is regressing from full.
• Solar tides are the strongest, with an alignment of the Sun and the celestial body. A very low tide appears on the far side of the earth. During a Solar period, the celestial body appears at it's apex during midday.
• Evening tides provide a tide on the day and the evening sides of the Earth. A low tide forms on the morning and twilight sides of the earth. During an Evening period, the celestial body appears at it's apex at night.
• Even tide means is no major tide caused by this body. They are caused by the sun and the celestial body being at right angles with each other, cancelling each other out. During an Even period, the celestial body appears at it's apex either near dawn or sundown.
• Rising and receding tides means that the tides for that celestial body are in a state of flux.
• Weak tides still bring water in, but might cause some larger ships at dock to become grounded. This is caused by another body at right angles to this one.
• Strong tides are unusual, but usually come in spurts. They usually cause minimal flooding in unprotected areas.
• Extremely Strong tides are unusual, but usually come in spurts. They can cause major flooding in areas that are unprotected, sometimes, but rarely, with a crest of over 50 feet.
